Musician, actor, and celebrated horror icon COURTNEY GAINS, most known for his role as Malachai in the 1984 horror classic Children Of The Corn, will release a brand new song this Halloween.
A hook-laden heavy rock horror anthem, ‘Fear The Boogie’ is a collaboration between Gains and Peruvian guitarist/producer Wal. The song was written for the soundtrack to Barn III, an upcoming horror film starring Gains and Kelly Maroney (Fast Times Tt Ridgemont High).
Drums on the track were recorded by Toni Mateos (www.tonimateos.com), an accomplished session drummer with credits spanning rock, pop, and film music.
Gains and Wal previously teamed up to contribute a song – titled ‘Wander And Dream’ – to the Marshes To Mountains: Savannah, GA Helps Rebuild Western NC Through Song compilation — a benefit album raising funds for hurricane recovery efforts. This song, along with the upcoming ‘Fear The Boogie’ hints at the duo’s artistic chemistry, which will be further explored on a full-length album planned for a 2026 release.
‘Wander And Dream’ is one of over 200 songs featured on the compilation. Download the album at Fake Fangs Records
‘Fear The Boogie’ will be available on streaming platforms starting October 31st. Follow COURTNEY GAINS on Spotify for updates.

2024 saw Gains celebrate the 40th anniversary of Children Of The Corn with a slate of horror-con appearances and a 35MM screening of the film at the Sitges Film Festival in Spain, regarded as the biggest horror/sci-fi festival across Europe. Recent projects include The Wrath of Becky, Thy Will Be Done, October 31, Lookout Weekend: Cruel Summer IV, Christmas Cowboy, and a standout role in the heavy-metal-infused horror film, Infernal. The Grime House Films production won Best Horror Feature Film at the Clout Film Fest.

The screening for Infernal took place at the infamous Bastrop, TX gas station featured in the 1974 classic The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Gains and his band played an exclusive set at the event. A live recording of the performance is forthcoming.
In 2023, Gains released his Safe Haven EP — a six-track blend of rock, folk, and Americana that highlights his gritty vocals and honest songwriting. The critically acclaimed record captures a raw, roots-driven sound that reflects Gains’s hands-on approach and unfiltered style
